MCE Back-to-School Fall 2023 TO-DO CHECKLIST

 

       

 

  • PTSA DUES:  Pay PTSA Membership dues here. An annual family membership is $17, regardless of how many children you have in the school district. If needed, a paper form can be found in the middle of the District Calendar. Paying your membership dues does not obligate you to join a committee. You are simply supporting the PTSA, which funds our kids’ field trips, Science Action, International Day, Moving-up Ceremony, and many more student enrichment programs.   • PTSA VOLUNTEER: The MCE PTSA is a great team….but we need more parent volunteers to make our team complete and keep our wonderful programs fully functional.  Sign up to volunteer here.

 

  • MCEXPRESS:  Sign-up for the MCE e-news, MCExpress, if you have not previously received it. This weekly communication provides information and reminders about what’s going on at MCE.  Included are messages from Ms. Clayton, MCE PTSA-sponsored events, MCE community news, district-wide news, and Pittsford community news.  Sign-up is available here.

 

  • DISTRICT E-NEWS:  Sign-up for District PTSA e-news only if you have never received this monthly email. Sign-up is available here.

 

  • URGENT E-MESSAGES:  Sign up for School District Urgent e-messaging only if you have not received the messages before. This service is the best way to find out about weather-related closures, delayed buses, and other last-minute information. PCSD families are automatically included in the email notification system, however- remember to update your contact information with your school registrar whenever there is change. 

 

  • MCE SPIRIT WEAR:  The first Friday of each month is MCE Spirit Day!  Kids and staff show their MCE pride in many ways, including wearing grade-level colors. Order your MCE Spirit Wear online starting September 13th through September 22nd. The Spirit Wear ordering link can be found here.

 

 

  • WELCOME BACK PICNIC:  The annual MCE Welcome Back Picnic will take place on Wednesday, September 20th from 5:30-7:00 p.m.  This not-to-be-missed event is a school tradition with games, pizza, and lots of fun! The deadline to register and submit payment - just $15 per family - is Monday, September 18th. Register your family here.

  • 1st MCE PTSA MEETING: Please join us on Thursday, September 21st at 9:15 a.m. in the MCE Main Cafeteria. A great deal of information is presented at this meeting, including a chance to hear from Ms. Clayton about the 2023-24 school year.  All are welcome to attend!

 

  • AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT (ASE):  Check here to see what enrichment programs are being offered this fall.  Registration will open on Sunday, September 17th and run through Sunday, September 24th.

Please donate the following items to your child's classroom:

 

  • Tissues (2 regular size, 2-PLY boxes)

  • Paper Towels (2 Select-A-Size Rolls)

  • Baby Wipes (2 Unscented Containers – no refill packs)

If your child is in Grades K or 1: LIQUID SOAP

SOFTSOAP BRAND ONLY – Regular with Aloe ONLY 

NO ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP. Softsoap brand contains no nut oils and the non-antibacterial soap is less irritating to the skin.

​

If your child is in Grade 1, 4 or 5:  ZIPLOC BAGS

  • Gallon – if your last name begins with A – F

  • Quart – if your last name begins with G – L

  • Sandwich – if your last name begins with M- R

  • Snack – if your last name begins with S – Z

If your child is in Grade 2:  ZIPLOC BAGS            

  • Gallon – if your last name begins with A – J

  • Quart – if your last name begins with K – Q

  • Sandwich – if your last name begins with R - Z

 

If your child is in Grade 3:  ZIPLOC BAGS

  • Gallon – if your last name begins with A – M

  • Quart – if your last name begins with N - Z

 

*** Contributions of these items are absolutely voluntary; however, MCE PTSA is requesting that families contribute the above-listed items as these specific supplies are better suited to promote and protect the health and welfare of our children than the materials provided by the district/state. ***
